Rewind: 5-star making the rounds

ADAMS VISITS FLORIDA, CLEMSON NEXT: 5-star defensive tackle Montravius Adams from Dooly County in Vienna, Ga., said his official visit to Florida was an “8” on a scale of 1 to 10. He will officially visit Clemson this weekend along with Auburn 5-star defensive end commitment Carl Lawson from Milton in Alpharetta, Ga. Adams also has visits set up to Alabama Jan. 18 and Georgia Jan. 25, and may visit Auburn Feb. 1.

Adams plans a decision on Signing Day.

"I like the place. Florida has always been there,” Adams told 247Sports. “I've never had a top school. But it's just been a school that's always been there."

5-STAR SAFETY VISITING AUBURN: 5-star safety Tony Conner from South Panola in Batesville, Miss., was all set to announce a decision at the Under Armour game but decided to move it back to Feb. 3. While Ole Miss remains the leader, Conner plans to visit Alabama Jan. 11 and Auburn Jan. 18 before making a decision.

“Alabama is just like South Panola,” Conner told “South Panola ends up in the state championship every year and Alabama is like in the BCS Championship every year. That’s a good tradition.

“Auburn stands out because Coach Melvin Smith is down there. He came from Mississippi State. He’s been coaching me up and I’ve been going to Mississippi State camps. ... He and Coach (Ellis) Johnson and the head coach called me and we talked.”
