At the beginning of this year, most all of the pundits, "experts" and folks with great "sources" were all talking about uat's dominance and separation from the rest of the SEC (they also said Florida was the dominant force in the East).
They all said that it was the BIG 2 and the little 10.
Well, here we sit in week 8 and currently the West Division of the SEC has returned to form.
Once again, the Auburn/LSU game will determine the front runner in the West, just as it has 6 times in the last ten years.
There is a lot of football to be played after this weekend and many many possibilities for teams wanting to get to Atlanta but as the sun rose this morning the state of the West Division of the SEC feels very familiar to Auburn and LSU folks.

Well LX, we all know that if bama is not in the picture then something is not right. The balance of the Earth must be off. Seriously though, bama is still in the picture unless they get beat again and we continue to stay undefeated. This makes the IB even more important.
Yes, LSU, AU & uat are all still alive but my point was the "experts" simply are not.
The SEC was not suppose to look like this in week 8.
The AU/LSU game is possibly the most important game in the country on Saturday. uat v Tennessee........meeehh.
Things change very rapidly these days in college football and a good number of folks don't look too smart right now (not that they ever looked very smart at all).
uat might still win the whole thing but so might LSU & AU........................sounds like a very good competitive conference to me with some exciting football still to be played.................................and that is the way it should be, imho.

Oh, no doubt. I was mainly being sarcastic towards the bammers. The West div is slamming right now and the East not so much. Most of the time the CFB landscape usually does look a good but different from what the "experts" say. It is nice to have it back the way it was a few years back though, you know b/w AU and LSU. On;y now bama is in the mix during the same time frame. When 3 of the Top 10 sit in the West division alone, that speaks volumes.
Hopefully after this weekend we can say "there is a new sheriff in town"
MSU had a good D
Clemson had a good D
UA had a better D then last year.
LSU has a great D - we will see.
I guess thats why we have the 8th toughest schedule in the nation year to date.
Peterson is avg over 21 yds per punt return - do not kick the football to him!
Should be a great game!
