I found this today and enjoyed the read.
From Rod Bramblett :
October 19, 2010
I have no idea what the final record of this football team will be when it's all said and done, but I do know this, it will be a fun and wild ride. So let's enjoy it. Let's not focus in on the areas this team needs to improve, because that's up to the coaches. We need to immerse ourselves in the good things this team is doing. We are witnessing an offensive performance like we have never seen around here. We are witnessing a quarterback unlike any that Auburn has ever had. We are witnessing a football program that is back among the nation's elite. Enjoy it!
I have made a promise to myself this week to appreciate everything this team has done and will continue to do. I don't believe I did that in 2004. Instead, it wasn't until the season was over that I truly celebrated what was arguably the best team and season in Auburn history. I'm not going to do that this time around.
For the first time since 2004, an Auburn football team is 7-0, but this isn't the same kind of 2004 team. The 2010 edition of the Auburn Tigers certainly has some deficiencies. We won't go into that. This team definitely has its strengths...starting with the offense...we won't go into that either. What this team seems to have more than anything is heart and an ability to win no matter what the circumstance.
So if you're one of those that is always waiting for the other shoe to drop...one that spends more time worrying about giving up 43 to Arkansas, what are we gonna do in the secondary with all our injuries, or throwing to the tight end more. You have a right to do and think whatever you wish, but keep it to yourself if you're around me. You see...I'm focused on a Heisman Trophy candidate, a record breaking offense, a defense that always finds a way, and a team that is fun as heck to watch.
Another Follow Up to 7-0 Starts
We've been keeping track of Auburn's undefeated starts to the season. We're now at 7-0...we're down to just four times not counting this year. This week we eliminated the 1997 season when Auburn fell in its seventh game of the season to Florida.
# 1986--This team fell to Florida in the eighth game of the year at Florida. The Tigers went on to finish with a 10-2 record, a number six ranking and they defeated USC in the Citrus Bowl 16-7.
# 1993--Undefeated at 11-0...enough said. Finished 4th in the nation.
# 1994--Still on probation and not eligible for a bowl game, Auburn was 9-1-1. A tie against Georgia and loss to Alabama ended a 20 game win streak. The Tigers still finished 9th in the country.
# 2004--13-0, SEC Champions and number two in the country.
As long as Auburn continues to win, we'll continue to update the list.
TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
From here on out I'll take what we can get and be proud of it. But 14-0 sure would be sweet.WDE
We beat UA by 3 touchdowns and 4 extra points!
A heartfelt and most sincere "Amen", Rod. Thanks LXI904 for sharing!
