Hope it's true but there's two obstacles to overcome...his commitment to FSU (or some other school) and his baseball draft status. We could sign him and he still could opt for baseball.

No way to really know, but ST (as he's known over there) seems to usually have good info.

The AE board may be very much a sunshine-pumping board as far as fans and posters go, but ST has just as much inside info as anybody, and it's usually accurate. He was the first to know about (or at least break the news) Mike Blakely transferring to AU if I'm not mistaken.
This is great news, but at the same time, it's recruiting. I'm taking everything with a grain of salt right now.

It makes sense. Lets be honest, bama has no history of developing quarterbacks. AU has produced 2 that won Heismans as well as others that had successful careers. 2 AU qb's have been 1st round draft picks in the last 10 years. Why would a top qb consider bama over AU?

I will add to the verification of this info....spoke to a very close friend of Ant this morning and Winston's top 4 in order were Auburn, bama, FSU and Stanford. A majority of Winston's family outside of his father (I will not get into the details of Ant's reservations with bama) are pushing for bama, but right now he stated he was "feeling AU" as his leader. His OV was intentionally postponed this weekend to allow proper time for the new OC hire to be announced. Winston is also still considering professional baseball as a serious option.
I will update as I can and of course this can change from hour to hour, but this was the info I was given earlier this morning....TIFWIW. WDE!

He is a stud QB but I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut that he never plays college football for anyone. This kid is too strong a base a ll player and will go high in the draft.
That said, if he is interested in coming to auburn, you sign him. Maybe he drops in the draft and plays. That would be pretty sweet!
