I've known about this one for a couple weeks now, He isn't the only kid who has been told his offer is no more... However, he may be the only one to admit to NCAA violations in an interview. A school can't get a job for a prospective recruit, that is a big no-no! My guess is that it will take less than a day for someone to “correct” his memory of that conversation and say that all Saban told him was that he SHOULD get a job, not that any uat booster or coach would get one for him. There were at least two other kids told to look elsewhere a few weeks back when it became clear that they could upgrade their 3* kids with 4-5* kids. There are two more in Alabama that I know of.

I'm sure this kid is now on the Do Not Call, Do Not Answer list out of tuscaloser and won't even get his meaningless piece of paper to hang on the wall. He better look for a small school to sign with before he misses the boat to an education entirely.

Unlike some, I DO feel bad for the kid. He is clearly someone who has/had dreams of playing at Alabama and Saban used him as a back-up plan. He isn’t needed, so now they wash their hands of him.

This is a crying shame. Granted I'm sure this happens all over the country, but doubt it happens like this. One of the first commits, which Bama took because it was early. In comes TJ, out goes the 3 star! What's sad is he says his coach heard from Bama about 2 weeks ago... wouldn't that be about the time the contact period resumed after the dead period before the new year that TJ flipped right before? It's a shame that and Bama have so much prestige that these recruits still want to come after they have been blatantly shafted.

Oh well, to each his own.... Hate it for the kid.

It'll be interesting to see how much coverage this gets. It, of course, will get no coverage in the state of Alabama. Will some national guys pick it up? Will the AJC continue pursuing it? This young man might not ever make it to college now. He'll likely not ever go to spuat. They'll have 25 higher ranked guys next year too. Saban is in essance taking this young man's chance to go to college away from him. Also, with all of the crazy NCAA rules, is it legal for saban to sign a piece of paper saying that someone has a scholarship for the 2013 year? I doubt it.

Reminds me of the scene in the movie Rudy when Coach Parseghian promises that he will dress Rudy for one game next season and then gets canned. If the scholarship is honored this kid will probably be one of those that "decides" to hang up his cleats after one season for "medical reasons".
