You must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more), and you must be working towards a degree. That means that if you are an undergrad student, all the classes that you take must be able to count towards your degree (you can't take electives just to be enrolled in 12+ hours of classes if you've already used all of your allocated general elective hours and you still have core and major classes left to take). If you've already received your undergrad, you must enrolled as a graduate student and all classes that you are enrolled in must be able to count towards your master's degree. There is no way to get around any of this.

If you want to play an NCAA sport, it will have to be tennis, and good luck walking-on with those guys. Auburn does not have a men's soccer team, only a women's team. I believe there may be a club team for the guys, but I do know that there is no men's team under the athletic department.
