Zeke Pike to transfer to Louisville

  • If you read my posts, you know I dont kick anyone around, praising coaches and team at every opportunity. I have defended Bobby Lowder for the good things he has done for Auburn. Of course, folks that spout uninhibited by knowing what they're talking about are likely to say anything. They're likely to say words like "wish him well," when a few miliseconds later their thinking about something important, like what's to eat. Pike blew it at Auburn, and hasn't shown that he has learned anything. He certainly hasn't earned well wishses. Does your post pass the tests all are supposed to pass? I don't recall licking anyones backside ever, and if you come to my door and say that, there could be interesting developments. Rules? Who for?

  • Really shocked not to see Pike transferring to Ark. St. Seems like Gus is taking all the trash or non compliant little boys. When he should be backing the coaches he worked with at AU.

I do not know why anyone is that surprised. Zeke was hand picked by a former OC that has proven to have a soft heart for hard cases. I think the change in systems, the change in coaches and expectations placed on him were just a little bit too much for the kid to handle at this time. It is not uncommon for kids to see their role in s system to be superior to the system itself. There is only one AU...there are countless Zeke Pikes...Maybe he will learn a valuable lesson. Deep down I am like our former OC and much of our coaching staff..I chose to see the best in people. I do wish Zeke the best. He was a good and loyal commit to AU for a long time and helped us build one hell of a recruiting class. Some of you need to look back and recognize the important role he played in putting together a class that I promise you will be one we will all enjoy watching grow and play. The kid saw a lot...coaching changes, players leaving, players shot, former players killed. I hate we had a parting of ways, but, God bless Zeke Pike...and best wishes for his future. Despite his many flaws I believe him deep down to be a good kid. A new start might do him will. I for one hope it does.

This is the best post I've seen on this board in a long time. Whatever your thoughts are on Zeke situation, this is still an 18 year old kid. He has moved on and so should we. I also wish him the best dispite the mistakes he made.

  • Hope he gets himself straightened and back on track. He seemed to be a genuine nice kid. Good luck young Mr. Pike.

Is the part about him moving to TE confirmed? Seems unrealistic . . . and if true, then it's a horrible football decision.

did you ever see him play qb in high school? He looked like a tight end playing qb. He might actually have a chance to succeed now. He doesn't have to be a leader any more. His only shot is to change positions. You do not realize how bad the high school football is where he came from. It was a mistake that we offered and signed him and we are lucky to get out unscathed. Hope he gets his act together for his sake. Getting out from under the pressure of playing quarterback can only help him.

I won't wish him luck when he is facing any SEC team which he will do at least once a year. I do wonder how long before we see him in the non-athletic news again.

I live in Louisville so I'm sure I'll be hearing all about Mr. Pike and his endeavors (good or bad).

  • He performed really well at the Elite 11 camp, and he was rated a 5 star until his off the field issues pulled him down.
