Your Best Memories that took place at War Eagle Supper Club ?

  • Lol!! I do remember about 93 or 94... Somewhere in there... Metal rose was there playing it was soooo crowded and I was sooooo tanked.. I passed out on the pot in the bathroom.... But I wasn't using the bathroom. At least I don't think I was:). My buddies looked for me for about an hour and finally found me. So much has changed down that stretch of road since I graduated.. Any y'all remember David allen Coe playing there... Like 1992.. Think he got pissed off, played less than an hour and left...
I did see the pygmies play there the weekend of the Georgia game this year... First time I had been back there in 15 years. That bus in the back used to be operational and take people's drunk butts home safely!! :)

  • Out of the hundreds of shows seen there, prob Panic, Drive bys and Little Feat were some of the favs. Telluride was always on fire there. Rick Carter is still a good friend.

I bet there ae a lot a great tales of that place. If walls could talk .

Anyway I remember Pat Sullivan and Terry B and Henley being in there after games. The cheers and yelling was so loud you could barely hear. i can still taste that greasy Pizza. Best in the world. man it was fun.

I drove the slush-bus (van) from 90-93. I could go on for days with the crazy stories.

See, I think the supper club was in a "slump" in the mid to late 70's. Think it was a dive that dive bars even looked down on - and I prefer a good dive bar - I've asked other friends who were with me at AU at the same time and they don't remember it either, except as "wasn't it a dive". Let's put it another way - there wasn't anyone lining up to get in the door.

My question was, how long has it been there? I know it's been "forever" but I don't really remember much about it when I was in school from '74-'78 and for two of those years I lived right down the street from it in the Mount Vernon Village trailer park. My memories are more of going to the All American Inn for quarter

It was one of the few places to go when I was a freshman is 1955. Don't know how long it had been there then. I have one sad memory from out there.........my roommate was going home one Friday evening driving his little VW Bug. He ran head on into a dump truck right neat the Supper Club. The result wasn't pretty.

Dang, hate to hear that!!! I knew it had been there "a while" but think during my time at AU it just wasn't what it must have been either before or after. Ticks me off!

  • Velcro Pygmies and Telluride were awesome. After the 97 Bame game was Awesome!! I saw a guy get flat out knocked out in there some time (cant remember year). The band quit playing, they cleared the floor, and called in an ambulance. Guy may have died...He got flattened...was out cold. Never had a bad night in the WESC.

    T two.....

Saw Buddy Miles at the club. Not a huge crowd by any means. Don't think a ton of folks really knew who he was. Was standing in the same spot for a good while and buddy broke a drum stick durning "Them Changes " and I caught it. Had him sign it and it is now a centerpiece for a memorabilia room.

Saw the young Derrick Trucks play with a soul live as the opening act. One of the best nights of my life. That trucks kid can sure get down on a slide.

Tons of other hazy alcohol induced memories PM the club best bartender...... PAULY!!!

I remember the guys up front handing Buddy a pipe.
