on WJOX. I've been listening to the roundtable and for almost the whole 4 hours every time they bring up the Malzahn vs smart hire, they basically have said that AU was being unreasonable in giving into his demand about playing in the NC game (and that was the ONLY thing he didn't get, don't believe scarbinsky and fartbaum on anything else). It's almost like they have to spin this because little kirby couldn't possibly the problem. Gotta love 'em! Bless their hearts!

And yet Gus is going to coach in the GoDaddy Bowl? Hmmm.
First, I doubt that he does. But either way, you can't have Auburn's head coach coaching Alabama's defense in the BCS Championship Game. I honestly don't believe Alabama would have let him do it either..

absolutely not! if they were to lose to ND, can you imagine all the conspiracy theories that would pop up? even Saban couldn't control that PR nightmare

Yep. We can't have Auburn's coach helping Alabama do anything. That is absolutely unthinkable. If he really wanted to do this, I have to think he either didn't understand the rivalry (unlikely) or didn't really want the job. And I also couldn't see Nick wanting Auburn's coach prepare his defense. If Smart had taken the job, there would (and should) automatically be a two-way distrust.
I hope Gus doesn't coach ASU's bowl game. Though if anyone has the work ethic to do both jobs at once, it is Gus.
