I was there too. It's funny how people remember Deon as the pass interference, but the interception was, as you point out, on the following play.
BVG should greatly improve the defensive play. I think moving Thig to LB's coach, and bringing in Martinez was a great move. I think Lolley will remain involved with the corners at practice.

That no call pass interference was on Ronnie Dodge. Pushed Freddie's helmet from behind. Ball hit Freddie in the top of the helmet on the goal line. Deon intercepted on the next play. I was a student at the time, sitting on the front row of the opposite end zone upper deck. They showed the replay on the jumbotron, and it was SO obviously a pass interference. We should have had the ball first and goal on the one. I'm still pissed to this day.
(Sorry, this was supposed to be a response to DGreggH)

It was actually Dedrick Dodge. I remember Dan Dierdorf on the ABC telecast saying during the replay:
"Dedrick Dodge gets away with manslaughter!"
Pat Dye showed tremendous class after the game by not complaining about the call at the end even when the the ABC crew tried to egg him on to do so. And when he didn't, Al Michaels said...."he didn't complain about the call, and that's why everyone respects a guy like Pat Dye."
A classy moment for Coach Dye and Auburn Football after a very heartbreaking loss.
