Moving forward, who has the best chance to take the bayou bengals down?
As much as I dislike them, I have to admit that they remind me of a "team of destiny".
They have won through various suspensions and problems off the field, have overcome adversity, and defeated
what will likely be their toughest opponent of 2011 in uat. That they did in an all-out D struggle of a nail-biter, on the
road. That's as quality a win as you can get, imo.
So, knowing that ALL teams can falter, and that there is ALWAYS a reason to play the game, who do you
think has the best shot of taking down the corn-dog scented tigers?
Is it Ole Miss? Of course not, that would be Nutty.
Is it Arkasas? hmmm. oooo, I don't know . . . that one's in Baton Rouge.
Is it uga? despite what the mutts did to us, I really don't think they can hang with a D like lsu.
Is it USC? That's right. USC could still play in Atlanta. Don't think UK can beat uga? See uga-Vandy this year and previous years' struggles against lesser competition for Richt's mutts. Still, I don't think they beat lsu.
So, on to the BCS:
Oregon? Well, let's see; they lost to lsu by 13 in week one at a neutral site. N'awlins ain't no neutral site.
Oklahoma State? I don't think so. I think that would be a woodshedding similar to '04 USC-Oklahoma.
Oklahoma? Should they beat OSU, it could be them. I don't know. Maybe. But I think OSU is on its own course of BIG 12-2-2-2-2
destiny, and will keep the Sooners out.
Is it Clemson or VT? LOL, no. Those are ACC schools, and we're talking about the BCS championship against the best SEC team.
Boise or Houston? That would be a massive bruise that would never heal. NO CHANCE ANYWAY.
Stanford? no tree is going into cajun country and winning anything. And, while Miles often wins with luck, he never loses to Luck.
That's all the contenders.
Oh wait. I nearly forgot uat.
As much as I hate it, I have to say that they have the best chance at beating lsu.
So, if everything plays out that the two have a chance at a rematch, I cast my vote for YES.
Either finish would be a plus for Auburn.
I know, I know, just wait a minute.
Yes, if uat were to win, we would have to endure the "got forty-eleven" t-shirts and the halitosis laden
heckling from the "in-yo-face, Aubie!" screamers. And, that would suck. But, we would keep the trophy
in the state, making it easier to take back in 2012 (Yes, I still believe in next year.) It would help with
recruiting for Auburn, too. Hear me out on that. If the crystal football stays in your state 3 years straight, seemingly juggled
back and forth between rivals, you have a recruiting edge in MS, GA, FL, TN, etc. Yes, you may lose a few to uat, but you will gain
some too. Kids across the country for years to come will start seeing the state as a football dominant one, (like '90's FL).
We could enjoy their respect.
If lsu were to win, we could laugh all year at uat. We could have our cake and eat it too! The SEC would
continue the BCS streak, while we all tease bammer nayshun for being the first SEC team to lose the BCS championship game.
Prediction: IF such a re-match were to take place, I think we would get our chance to laugh. Home field advantages will NOT exist in the Superdome for the todd. Without those, they get whooped, 27-10.
Hating uga since 1892.
There wont be a rematch.
If OU wins out, which team gets a rematch? Arlington was tantamount to an LSU home game. Also OU has improved as the year has gone on. They have another high profile game this weekend. If they win it, then they'll be in a better position, imo, to make a case than UA but not by much. So, in the end, I think there wont be a clear consensus on which of those two teams deserves a rematch so the ultimate result is NEITHER gets it. If either OU or OSU win out then they go. I think LSU goes regardless if they lost arkie, so long as they beat the mutts in atl. If they both win out, then OSU wins the right.
bammer can just suck it.
kick 'em in the ass, big blue.
Wrong, LSU may or may not lose to Arky but I will guarantee you they will lose to Jawja. It has been decades since LSU has had a perfect season ( I actually can't remember them ever having one ) and it won't happen this year, you can take that to the bank - WDE
ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
If they get by UGA in Atlanta, I suspect the team that would have the best chance of beating LSU would be Green Bay. lol.
Scot by blood, Southerner by Birth, Auburn Tiger by choice - War Eagle!
