I think he is headed to New Orleans or New York as part of the analysts for the BCSCG. Funny, there were posts when the game was set saying ESPN wouldn't allow CGC to be a part of the broadcast the way they did Saban last year. We need CGC on national tv the way other big time program's HC have been. the exposure is immeasurable. CGC is going to hire the right coordinators and recruiting will be a great success.

Thanks for you answer Phillip. I know you and others don't appreciate how I express my concerns on these hires. I joined AUC to follow something that is very special to me. Lately there has been nothing special and I don't see the urgency from the ones who can turn this thing around. I know you and Bryan are doing your best to report what you know. It is nice that I can coax a response from you from time to time too.
I would love to be able to cheerlead and talk how things have been great the last two years.

I want to believe in CGC. I want to believe that when he finally hires these coaches Auburn can regain momentum of our 2010 National Title. That’s if we ever had it. I want to believe great things will happen the last three weeks of recruiting season. Right now my confidence level in CGC is not very high and you or anyone else can't convince me otherwise.

There has been one thing I know to be a fact however. If you forget history then you are likely to repeat it.
And Auburn's history has been that they cannot sustain success. Now is the time we should be smashing the motor, but as our history has shown we continue to get into our own way. I see it coming again and all the chill pill or lighten up comments are not going to change that unless the ones in charge show me that they give a damn.

There is an expression that a close friend of mine shared with me. No one cares what you know, unless they know that you care. In my opinion it is time for our leader to address the Auburn Nation himself and quit leaving these responsibilities up to second and third hands. That is when I will lighten up. I need to hear something, ANYTHING from CGC.

This is all pretty silly stuff. They pay Coach millions to make the decisions. I like Zook but don't like Bell, that doesn't mean Coach owes me an explanation. I opposed Roof from day one, I aired my feelings regularly, I didn't however feel like Coach owed me an explanation for his hire. These coaches have one mission, to win. If they don't they are told to hit the bricks. Chiz won the first National Championship in forever for us, I think that buys him some leeway. Again, I don't like the hiring (IF it even happens) of Bell because I know how it will be spun around the state and the southeast -it looks like a 2nd or 3rd tier hire. I would LOVE to see myself proven wrong -I didn't like the hiring of Chiz, clearly I was wrong about that one.

You have about as much right to the the head coaches plan and process info as Nick Saban does. Long time lurker, first time poster.

People are suggesting you "take a pill" because you're post are over the top. Outside of the possibility of Bama lurkers on here anyone dropping the monthly payment on this site in some way shape or form cares for Auburn and Auburn Football.

Over time I have read post from you and understand you have a desire for Auburn to be considered one of the "Big Boys", but even the "Big Boys" have up and down times. Phillip has tried to tastefully say over and over again that to believe Auburn will recruit year in and year out with the top 5 or 6 programs is a bit absurd. We are in the next tier and I would argue dang good at staying in the conversation for competing with the "Big Boys" most years. The last 30 or so years bears this to be fact. We are not a state school and don't get all the extras that comes along with being a state school.

Recruiting is fun to watch, but don't sell out on it. Remember two and three years ago it was Florida getting all these big time recruits putting on the hats and gloves at the UA game and Army AA game. I wouldn't trade this Florida team for ours now...not all cases but in some way recruiting ratings have as much to do with who is recruiting you in my unfact based opinion. Football is about the Jimmy's and Joe's more than the X's and O's but all these experts...please. You can't know how a 18 year old kid will look and develop into a 22 year old man. You can't see their ability to respond to the next level, going from being a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big pond, etc...

More than anything stop acting as if the sky is falling. It isn't. Let the head coach do his job, wait and make judgments on the recruiting class when it has been around long enough to matter. Anyone with the ability to understand talent and youth can see the coaching staff did a great job with a half deck in 2009, a marvelous job in 2010 and struggled but managed to out perform expectations in 2011. A 2011 issue that most saw coming for 3 years. In 2012 it will not be easy. We still have to play LSU, Bama, Arkansas, Georgia, Texas A&M...well you know the schedule. If we catch a few breaks we might be playing the first weekend in December.

No offense but I think this is defeatist and truly illustrates the problem that a lot of people have with all we have seen in the last six months and with the hiring process as it has unfolded. I am NOT willing to accept that we are NOT one of the big boys and that we should just accept that as fact and move along. It drives me crazy to hear Auburn people accept second tier status in the state or anywhere else. There is NOTHING absurd in believing that Auburn can recruit in the top five or ten every year, the only absurd thing is accepting that we shouldn't.

No offense taken. I don't believe it is defeatist. Just a reality. In my opinion the talk of "Family" is an effort to compensate for known perception issues as compared to say, Alabama. "Family" in many ways plays on a mentality difference that some recruits might possess over the kid locked into simply being in a system to get to the NFL. It is a philosophical approach no different than running a scheme difference like Pro set vs. Spread.

To clarify my statement about "Big Boys" I would argue Auburn is a "Big Boy" my argument is that there is a perception that 5 or 6 programs are bigger than the next 10 or so. Not classifying Auburn as a "Big Boy" I am merely trying to speak to this perception. From a purely TV ratings understanding USC, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas do huge ratings no matter the record, etc...Florida suffers when Zook is in charge, LSU is in vogue now but sprinkle in a few 3 or 4 loss seasons and that would change quickly. I personally believe the explantation for the ratings is largely connected to overall perception of a program.

Keep it up Eagleson and you'll have a stroke and won't have to worry about AU football. Seriously man, it's not good for your health.
