Where are the DC haters today?

  • After a much improved defensive effort today, I couldn't find the Roof haters on the message board? Maybe our young defensive players are beginning to catch on to what he is coaching them. Coach Chizik didn't hire him because he liked his name! We still have a long way to go, but I think it is evident the DC and HC know what they are doing. Great road win today for our young football team!

    Agreed we have been asking folks to be patient but people like that idiot "shadow" calls the talk show and constantly complains about Ted Roof, well I have news for you the defense has won the game the last two weeks. And there are a lot of others out there who have joined in and gotten on the griping band wagon " pat " for one is another whiner and complainer. We do not need ya'll calling in and acknowledging how much we have improved, we all knew we would and ask your sorry complaining selves to be patient but you would not listen - perhaps you'll listen now. Great job team and thank you Ted Roof for keeping your nose to the grind and ignoring all the detractors - WAR DAMN EAGLE

    Looks like the "dumbing down" of the defensive schemes that Saban implied Chizik was doing must have worked because the defense sure did dominate.

  • I had been, over the last couple of weeks decidedly unimpressed with the defensive effort. That changed today. The defense stepped up and the talent there did what they were capable of doing all along. I will give props to the defense, they played great!

    I would give the game ball to Lutz. He took the momentum in the interception strip. He plays the game hard, every play. Glad to have him back in the lineup.

    They may, and they will test well. But the USCe defense is much better than Arkansas', so look for more TOP dominance in that one for the Auburn Tigers! WDE!

    So now Lattimore and Jefferys (two future NFL players) are pushovers and their head coach was just way over matched? Spurrier is a hall of fame coach. Guys like Lattimore, Jefferys, Clowney, & Ingram are probably going to be playing on Sunday. That is the same USC team that made it to the SEC Championship game last year.

    Does USC have some problems? Yes, but a road win in the SEC is pretty solid.

    If we shut down Arky I guess people will say it is because Davis is out for the season and Petrino is not that good of an OC.

  • I would like to point out that the USC game is the first game I have seen Auburn actually look like they were running a Ted Roof style defense. A lot of shifting and disguising of coverage.

    The defense blew two plays. The long pass to Jefferys and the Lattimore TD. Both of those should not have happened. The Lattimore run we missed 3 tackles. The Jeffery's TD Spurrier called the perfect play when we brought the safety up to stop the run. Jeffery's pushed off on Bell and did not get called, but Bell was in position to make a play on the ball.
