I like to stay as optimistic as possible about Auburn recruiting, and our staff has proven in the past that they are very strong closers, but...

... from everything I've read//heard/seen, I have the gut feeling that we are going to come up a close second in a lot of these battles for our top remaining targets. I'm sure we'll land a few of them, but I don't have a great feeling about most of these kids. Bryan, I'll readily admit you are the best in the game at what you do and you have a much stronger likelihood of predicting the decisions of these 17-18 year olds than the rest of us, so I hope your guesses are correct.

Is there any reason for our staff to not try to sign a full class of 25 this year? Understanding that a lot of things can change between signing day and the start of next season, what do our numbers look like against the 85 scholarship limit? I know we were pretty low last year, but we're not really losing very many guys from last year's team to graduation, NFL, etc.

Yes, there's a good reason for Auburn not to sign a full 25 this year. If Auburn can't find 25 prospects they deem worthy of excelling in the SEC then they won't sign them. There may be one or two sleepers added at the end but you won't see Auburn sign a bunch of unheralded guys just to fill out the class.

I am trying to keep a positive outlook on all of this. We are still a week away and like you said Bryan with the staff that we have, it would not surprise me at all if we shock some of the naysayers. Needless to say, I will have to have a few drinks at work that day. WAR EAGLE!!

Bryan no element here in oxford is pushing kwon away from us. Everyone here is wanting him to do whats best for him. He and trae are good friends and that may have some effect on his decision. I hope he chooses au but if doesnt i wish him the best!!! WDE

You nailed it here. Alexander is part of a culture that will not let him come to Auburn. It doesn't really matter what he wants. When you are part of that culture, it is tough. If he signs an LOI to Auburn, it would be a SIGNIFICANT development in recruiting history in this state. Same with Winston and Yeldon. Look for it next year with Liner.
