Why can't you do both?

An either/or scenario is an intellectually lazy proposition.

This is another misconception pushed by the Petrino supporters (not you necessarily, just the idea in general).

They want to act like the only two options are someone with Billy Graham's reputation, or someone with Petrino's reputation, as if there is no in between.

I don't have to have a guy with the Creed tattooed on his back, but does that mean the next option down the list is the guy at the VERY, very bottom of the reputation list?

Not to bump myself but....

We are hearing this and hearing that about coaches and what not. But some of us act like we need to avoid person x and look for somebody with the "true Creed" lifestyle. And some are just in it to win it.

And the intelectually lazy coments can be taken elsewhere. I make no assumptions about you I would only ask you do the same about me.

And to the question of cant we have both. Those days are long since gone. this is a what have you done for me lately society and the schools dont give as good as they get. They want a true figure head that is the best of both worlds in public. But behind closed doors they care only for revenue and wins. Which work hand in hand.

I take wins as my answer as well. We dont play sports to compete, we play sports to win. If it were only about competing then tear down the score board.

Whatever will happen will happen with Chiz and the lot. But I for one think we are in to competitive of a league to go after "Good Guys" that are either new head coaches or non proven consistent winners. Throw the bank at the best of the best and move on. Because I assure you the "True Creed" folks will fill the stadium of theteam coached by the winner. And try to oust the good guy that doesnt win.
