The Bodda Getta

My first AUBURN game was uga 1957 in Columbus, Ga. I know AU won but that is all I really remember. My first college game though was uat vs Miss. Southern (I believe that is what it was called back then) the good part was that uat lost. In fact I believe they went 0-10 that year. My first Iron Bowl was 1960 I think. Ed Dyas had gotten hurt the week before when he was tacked out of bounds into the bench and could not play. We lost 3-0 best I can remember.The Interesting thing was the trip to B'ham was on a train that left from Columbus, Ga. and picked people up on the way to B'ham it was called the War Eagle Express. It was a great way to go to a football game.

1968 Tennessee game. It was at Legion Field on a Saturday night in November. That was unusual because we always played UT on the last Saturday in September. That year we were the second game in a double header. bammer played lsu in the first game. We won. I believe the score was 28 - 14. I was in hog heaven.

I think it was Duke vs Auburn in 1980, at least that is the 1st one I can remember. Seems like there was a Jersey day or something like that going on.

Miss. State 1957 at Legion Field, only game all year in which Auburn trailed at some point in the game. I can still see Tommy Lorino scoring the go ahead touchdown in the north endzone!

1958 AU-Tennessee game at Legion Field in Birmingham with my dad. AU won 13-0. I don't think TN crossed mid-field.
