What if this doesn't work out

  • What are your expectations for this team the next 3 years?
    1. Get to a bowl game & be competitive year 1
    2. Drastic improvement on both sides of ball and NYd bowl year 2
    3. Competing for sec west year 3 & program stable for the future
    If these do not happen how can u say this was a good hire and were back in the same boat again it will the pres, jj , and Gus's ass on the line, if this hire fails total meltdown of the program.

    I expect CGM to do his very best. I believe he is a proven coach AEB (as evidence by) his success at every coaching endeavor, especially when he's given full rein of the program. All in all, I expect we'll have a much better team!! There will be discipline, fundamentals, accountability, and determination. I saw none of these elements last year. NONE.

    I also choose to be positive. It certainly can't get any worse.

    Not sure what your point is, exactly. Those are my exact expectations of any new coach, though I would probably combine 1 and 2, minus possibly the NY Day bowl, and make 3 number 2. No reason we shouldn't be at least competitive with drastic improvement on both sides of the ball in year 1, and in year 2 we should at least start to challenge for division titles. By year 3, if things are going well, we should be in "high expectations maintenance mode" perenially. If these things do not happen then it wasn't a good hire, regardless of the coach.

    and what if you actually posted a positive thought or better yet - what if you finally go back to your own board and get off this one. Trolling around here won't be nearly as much fun as before - most of the people here are actually happy these days - I think you'll find it too depressing.
