Excellent post! I was really excited heading into this season with the staff changes but was weary of the growing pains that were sure to come along with them. I saw a lot of positives in the Clemson game & a few in the beginning of the Miss St game on defense. The offense took a huge step backwards but think of the first few seasons with Jason Campbell & a different OC every year. He looked lost until his Sr year with Borges. I'm not too concerned with KF's future. After all, he's been running Malzahn's offense for quite a while.
CBV stated they lacked size for his style on defense when he arrived. That doesn't excuse the poor fundamentals & execution but the player's with experience have to un-learn Ted Roof's coaching for the last few seasons.
On offense we don't have a bruiser RB to run between the tackles that the pro-style offense works best with. Blakely may fill that role eventually but he is basically a true freshman from an experience standpoint.
I'm an Auburn man regardless of the record this season or any other. I feel we will see steady improvement over the remainder of the season & more confidence from the players. WDE!
