WOULD YOU PLEASE READ COMPLETELY WHAT PM HAS WRITTEN...

  • I rarely post on here and I am a member because I really want to read what Phillip, Bryan & Ron are reporting. I am totally amazed that some of you on here can not comprehend what is written by these guys. If Phillips states that he is sure in his view of something then I totally believe him, if he states that he has heard something and has not been able to substantiate it then I take that for what it is...HE HEARD SOMETHING. Some of you guys seem to just jump on anything you read as being factual even when Phillip has stated that it very well may not be. Then you jump all over him for putting what he has heard out there. Get a life people! If you want the best news about what is going on around Auburn then you are in the right place but please don't waste cyber space on questioning Phillip's integrity just because he writes about something he has heard and he has clearly stated that in his post...It is hearsay.

He did not report it in a "news story", he simply posted what he heard in a message board post and was very clear in stating that. Quite a difference in the two.

It wasn't a BREAKING NEWS story, go back to bed.

  • I can't believe how personal the attacks are. It's crazy. Just over the last 4 months, this board has gotten a lot worse. More foul language, more personal attacks, more anger and vitriol towards other posters. I think some have to be trolls. but they can't all be. It's really sad that this is happening.

Theoretically, why would one post something that they heard and not being able to or unwilling to substinate it, knowing it will cause a reaction and then act surprised when said reaction occurs?

    Theoretically of course.

  • I would learn to spell before replying.

News report = weeks to months of research and verification of material being written to include positive identification of information

Message Board post = no real prep, think of it as something someone would say to you in passing. i.e. "Hey did you hear the latest chatter about coach Chizik? I've heard a few people say he has more support these days, i'm not sure what it means, what do you think about it?"

Very different outlets of information, treat accordingly.

I don't think Phillip is ever "surprised" that people react, I think he, like myself, are surprised when people attack HIM as if he is the one saying the things that he has heard.

He'll say, "I've heard some chatter that Chizik could possibly get another year"....and people freak out on him as if HE decided to keep Chizik.

It's ridiculous. And I also guess that you, like many others, can't tell the difference in Phillip's different formats for sharing information.

Some are "press release" type articles. Something he'd put in print if anyone still read a newspaper.

Other things are complete, 100% commentary or opinion....him just throwing out some thoughts or a perspective on something.

Other things are little "snippet" blurbs about things that deserve about that level of mentioning...that's often where you see "word around the athletic complex is that Wayne Bolt was thrown out of a defensive meeting". Since Bolt or none of the other coaches present won't go "on record" about it, he just mentions it, but doesn't turn it into a full blown "news story".

I find it hard to believe that you simply can't comprehend this idea....so I don't what it is...do you just want to be difficult? Do you just want to complain? Are you just so arrogant that you just naturally scoff at what others say, as if they are idiots?

    Seriously asking.

Dude. Ridiculous. When a reporters tells you what he is HEARING it's just that - what he's HEARING. Phillip is very clear differentiating between something he can substantiate as fact and what he is HEARING.
