Harvey Updyke turned down a plea offer from prosecutors that would have required him to spend 13 years in prison and never attend a Crimson Tide sporting event for the rest of his life, a source close to the case told ESPN.com on Friday.

What I can't figure out. Why do we elect these officials and when they do their elected duty we have a problem with it. Updyke, teabagger and everyone else who has done a crime. It is their own fault for putting themselves in those situation. 13 years isn't ridculous, I am glad the DA sent a strong message to Updyke. I tell you one thing, he don't have that stupid a!@% smile on his face tonight.
