Updated Combined Team Recruiting Rankings

Auburn is tied for fifth. AU would be higher, but ESPN has not updated its rankings since 1/21.

  • This ranking is actually as of Jan 28....

If you have to ask why I love Auburn so much...never mind

  • Who's ranking is this? It's done on a google spreadsheet.

    BLatham

  • headslap Come on people, this is a spread that averages the rankings of the major recruiting services into a combined list. The OP states that the ESPN ranking hasn't been updated since Jan. 21. This ranking was made on Jan 28th. If ESPN's rankings were more up to date then this ranking would have Auburn higher than they are because we would be higher up the ESPN rankings.

  • Either way we've got a top 5 class with a couple more 4 stars coming in. Remember the TT Era when we kept saying "coached up" 3 stars were just as good. What excites me is seeing all these guys qualify. When you look a guys we sent to Prep or JUCO that never panned out or went somewhere else, you see the problem we'll have in '11. One more class like '10 and '11 and Auburn will have it's highest talent level ever(maybe '57 was better)

  • how does USC have 25 Commits? I thought they were on probation that cost them 10 scholarships a year for 3 years

They have a certain number that are counting back to last year's class (because they only signed 18 last year).

The restrictions apply going forward. It's a bit of a loop hole I guess you'd say. Ultimately they can't get around the number of scholarships they lose, but it certainly hurts less being able to fill 7 or 8 spots from the year before (notice the number that have already enrolled in school....all of those guys count back because they had so many unused spots from the 2010 class).

  • Also because they are appealing the ruling so it is fair game to load up this year.

  • The funny thing is that who ever did this has it wrong. Auburn ranks 5th all by itself while LSU and Notre Dame are tied for 6th. Look over at the median scores. Just a "foopah" on the board. Good information all in one place though!

  • USC is shielding itself at the moment with the NCAA appeal process......they'll have to pay the piper now or pay him later. Just delaying the inevitable in order to have a little success on the front end.

On a side note...is it just me or does anyone else see coach Ogeron being drawn into a B-rated movie at some point while so close to Hollywood? He's the perfect candidate for the next round of "Naked Gun" style flicks! No speaking parts, of course, unless it involves mumbling and slobber.

It is just something I have been doing once a week. I check the rankings of each of the sites: Rivals, Scout, CBS and ESPN. I award 25 points for each 1st place, 24 for 2nd, etc. I did it early Friday morning before ESPN updated their rankings later that day.

I will do a final one after Wed.

No. Actually Auburn and Notre Dame each had 80 points based on their ranking by each site. I just included for reference the median ranking, which throws out the high and the low and then averages the two rankings in the middle.

Okay, I get it now. Thanks for doing the spreadsheet! Saves me from doing my own!
