  • And USA Today isn't the only one. I made a post on this topic last week were pretty much everyone everywhere has Alabama beating us in the Iron Bowl. For some predictions, that means Alabama is in the title game. For others is means they are in the Sugar Bowl.

Phillip made the good point that Alabama hasn't lost in Tuscaloosa since 2007, and will likely be favored against us. People are going off that logic (which makes sense) and predicting 11-1 Alabama goes to the SEC title game and wins, thereby moving on to the BCS title game (or Sugar Bowl at least).

Oh well, what can you say. Guess we'll just have to change all those predictions.

  • Last year uat had to live in the shadow of "the mighty gators" all season. No one gave them a shot at beating them in the SECCG. Despite what the "experts" said all season about how great uf was, uat demolished them. From that point on uat has been perceived as unbeatable. Remember, to be the king of the hill you have to dethrone the king of the hill. It all plays out on the field in a few short weeks. And watching the two teams play, I like our chances. WDE!!!

  • AUBURN HAS A WINNING ATTITUDE. I HAVE BEEN AN AUBURN FAN ALL MY LIFE AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE COMFORTABLE WITH OUR TEAM AND THE WAY WE PLAY. THEY ARE A GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS THAT WANT NOTHING MORE THAN TO WIN. I DON'T THINK THERE IS A SELFISH PLAYER IN THE BUNCH. LOOK AT CAM'S STATEMENT ABOUT THE NFL. ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS FOCUS ON THE NEXT GAME. ONE GAME AT A TIME. I LOVE THIS TEAMS CHANCES. WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

last time i checked that was the ONLY time they HAVE won in T-town.

  • uat is more worried about us than LSU. Now, I don't think LSU has enough offense to win ...but you never know their caught looking ahead. Plus, I think we will have something to say about that BCSNC....

I'm not sure what you mean.

Alabama hasn't lost to anyone at home since 2007. We didn't play them in Tuscaloosa in 2007. They were 6-6 in 2007 and lost to several teams at home, including Louisiana Monroe.

But 2007 is as much in their past as 2004 is in our past. It's pretty irrelevant in 2010.

Since 2007, Alabama has won 18 straight at home. I'm just saying that it makes sense, as of right now, that Alabama would be the favorite at home (against anyone).

  • The reality is that until we beat the tide they can and will say anything.

The Media has it written in stone that AU cant and WONT beat bama due to a lack of defense and the fact that all the top 25 teams we have played are all frauds. While in the same conversation saying how awesome bama is due to beating all these top 25 teams. Which by the way are mostly the same top 25 teams that we have played. It seems to me that the only real fraud is that Fla was a ranked team when bama pounded them. They were a real live fraud! But none of the rigth all the time media will say that.

It is also funny to me that when bama OSU and FLa were undefeated we had 3 dominant teams that we GREAT teams. But once Oregon and AU were at the top there were NO GREAT TEAMS just really good teams that are all flawed. However if...oops Im sorry WHEN bama beats AU there will be a great team and boy wouldnt it be nice to see the GREAT bama DEFENSE (same one that got out played out coached and just flat whipped by SCAR) play that Unstoppable Oregon offense. (Oh and who really has oregon played that has even a good defense?? NOT USC)

And the heisman race no matter what anyone thinks is over for the most part. Oregon will pound the rest of thier foes and Lamichael James will run away with the vote........ Very interesting that Dr Fool Lou was riding Cams cape until AU got to the top and now all he does is say how great Kellen "dont balme me that we play absoluetly nobody" Moore and Lamichael "Little Omac" James qand downplay anything that cam does as being average. The way that he put all the yards that Cam and the RBs got in the LSU game on a poor coached team that if I am not mistaken he called the best defense in the SEC maybe the Nation a mere hours or even minutes before the actual game. JUST PATHETIC.

And call me a conspiracy theorist but I do not think that if we win all our games the we are a lock for Glendale. They are all already looking for a way to get a NonAQ team in and they will all start riding the TCU bandwagon onc e they pound Utah on Sat. And dont be surprised to see the media criticize us for playing Ut Chatt once we hang a 100 on them. Because as we all know if they are a confenerce game it is okay to play creampuffs but if you play them as OOC games then you are padding your schedule with WINS!

    SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My last note is that I hope CGC and CTR are playing the tapes of every media type saying that our defense is the reason we will lose to bama and why we got jumped by Oregon in the BCS. And really they have been made fun of by the media while a team that gives up just as many yards and points is being called improving and sometimes GREAT!

    WAR DAMN EAGLE !!!!!!!!

It's because the game is being played in Tuscaloosa. If they were playing in Auburn this year, I have no doubt that we would be a slight favorite. Their only lose in the last two seasons was on the road at USC and that was what the "experts" called a perfect trap game. I don't have a problem with what the media says about the game or who is favored, like you said, We will have to prove those predictions wrong.

  • Arkansas was supposed to beat us. LSU was supposed to beat us. USC was supposed to beat us. What has changed? No one thinks we can finish. I don't mind that particular mindset from the media as it's been happening all year. Everyone knows that Auburn plays better when we aren't supposed to win. That is a fact. I think the pressure is on and Alabama hasn't made it through these next two games against LSU and MSU which will be a hard fight. There are a lot of things that can happen between now and November when we play them. I like our chances, against anyone.

  • If bamur has any weakness on defense Coach Gus will find and exploit them. I worry, though, that the refs will call back and penalize us after most big gains. They even did it last year at our place, so what makes anyone think they won't do the same in t-town?

One other point, I'm still deeply concerned about pass coverage by our DB's. Without that shortcoming I feel we have a better than average D! Maybe they'll improve by mid and late November.

    WDE!

    AU1959

  • I would rather them make us the underdog than to be the favorite. Our guys need to prove it on the field and we'll be fine. I wouldn't mind being the underdog all the way to Glendale!

Every week I make a post that lists who the experts are picking in our game. We were picked to win every game you just listed. In fact, we were picked to win against LSU by a large, large majority of the experts. I think it was 20-something to 3 or 4. It wasn't even really close. Same for the Arkansas game. The vast majority picked us then too.

The experts are picking Alabama simply because the game is in Tuscaloosa and they haven't lost there in 2.5 years. If it were in Auburn, I suspect they would chose Auburn. It's not a conspiracy. It isn't us against the world. The experts aren't out to get us. It's an honest pick, and one that makes sense, even if we don't agree.
