***Dyer said the rest of the offensive players want to do their part in helping the team and take advantage of their opportunities. Dyer said they appreciate how much credit Cam Newton gives to his teammates.
***Dyer said he knows a lot about Bo Jackson and likes that he has a chance to break his freshman rushing record.
***Dyer said he feels more relaxed now and his body is in better shape.
Gus Malzahn is next...
***Malzahn said practice went well and guys had good attitude.
***Malzahn said receivers were doing excellent job blocking on the perimeter.
***Malzahn feels like the offense is improving and still has more room to get better.
***Malzahn said he's in his own world, focus is on making team the best he can be and winning championships. He said somewhere down the line he wants to be head coach but is in no hurry. Loves working with Coach Chizik and being at Auburn.
***Malzahn praised Coach Grimes and Auburn's offensive line.
***Malzahn on drinking too much coffee: "I'm already high strung so its probably not a good thing."
Well it's nice to see every one is keeping their perspective.
Onterio McCalebb is up...
***McCalebb said he doesn't pay attention to talk that Auburn's offense is a one-man show. He said everybody is in it together.
Demetruce McNeal is next...
***McNeal said the potential interception hit him in the chest and he never got his hands on it. He said his teammates, "Are killing me," about missing the INT.
***McNeal said it was fun to play defense for the first time and to help contribute to the team in different ways other than special teams. He feels like the experience he's getting this season will be a big benefit as he battles for a starting job next year.
Josh Bynes is here...
***Bynes said the defense hasn't made enough progress in improving their tackling. He said they missed too many tackles against Ole Miss that turned into big plays.
***Bynes did say the defense is better overall but still has some things to improve on like tackling and penalties on 3rd down that cost them points.
***Bynes said Jonathan Evans did alright against Ole MIss. Said he gives great effort but still makes some mistakes; he should improve with experience.
***Bynes said his parents have never seen him play at Jordan-Hare Stadium but his dad will be up Saturday for the Chattanooga game.
Ted Roof is here...
***Roof said Ole Miss scrapped their conventional offense for a Wildcat attack and they had to make a quick adjustment. Said they went in with a goal of containing their QB and did for the most part.
***Roof said the INT by Washington and the 4th-down stop were huge. They still have to play better for 60 minutes.
***Roof said the focus in practice was really good Tuesday and they took a step forward.
***Roof said Chris Davis's play on 3rd down led to the 4th down spot. Said Davis was getting better.
***Roof said Jake Holland is playing 12-15 snaps a game now, which helps Josh Bynes.
***Roof said Eltoro Freeman and Jonathan Evans did some good things but have to be more consistent.
***Roof said Ryan White has worked with the secondary and scout team this fall. Said he has potential for a bright future at cornerback.
***Roof said LaDarious Owens was devastated by the death of his former high school teammate Nick Bell, who died of cancer Tuesday. Bell played four games for Mississippi State this season.
Thanks for the updates, Bryan! Good stuff as always!
"Alabama fans love Alabama football, Auburn fans love Auburn" -- Patrick Fain Dye
Wow, hard to believe that Josh has played four years at Auburn and Saturday will be their first visit to see him play live. BM, any reason given by Josh why they do not come more often to Auburn games?
This is for the Auburn Family and everyone who played here before we did. I love ya'll, War Eagle!' Nosa Equae 10/19/13 Kyle Field Texas A&M
