Wow, my head is spinning with all the good news. We have the potential to combine what we all know is a great offense with an agressive tough defense. Auburn is 2 for 2 in the hires made this week. WDE!!!!

I think it's safe to say that Gus had this one locked up before Gus signed up and I think some other coaches will be along shortly. Nothing like good advanced planning even if it is based on a big "what if I....". In essence he has locked down the 2 most essential positions for recruiting - who is running the defense and offense and what style will they employ. I am impressed!!

I haven't talked to Foster since the Johnson hire but will catch up with him soon. I think there's a good chance Foster signs with Auburn regardless of what happens with Trooper. The new staff will have to build a relationship but he lives right here and can come over anytime.

Bryan, would there be a chance that Johnson would go in another direction in terms of defensive recruiting? I know BVG put a lot of emphasis on size in his defense, while it sounds like Ellis Johnson puts more priority on speed and athleticism. Would this affect the recruitment of some of our current commits? Would he honor the scholorship offers that are currently out there? Thanks Bryan! I'm excited about the new hires and the direction the team is headed!

It may change some things but I don't see it affecting Auburn's current commits. I promise I'll have plenty of answers on this issue in the coming days and weeks. Malzahn needs to assemble his staff, at least part of it, and they will need to start meeting and evaluating and making decisions while at the same time going out on the road recruiting.

As ominous as things looked two weeks ago, he'll a week ago, there's just as much excitement to feel good now. Keep it up CGM! WDE!
