Coach Barbee said it loudly and clearly. We got beat becauise we weren't playing tough. In the last three games. The difference between Barbee and VanGorder, who also declared that his team wasn't tough is that Barbee didn't look like he had no idea of how to fix that problem and VanGorder didn't seem to know. If we think VanGorder doesn't know how to fix a team that's not very tough, you must be from MARS. His helpless sense after talking about the defense not being tough wasn't words saying I don't know how to coach tough. It was more like I sure would like to coach tough, but I can't. A pure swag. If Chizik stays, VanGorder is gone, period. He may be gone anyway, but he's gone if Chizik stays. From way outside in the land of guesses, I don't think the staff and Chizik should be thought of as an entity when considering retention. My guess is that the trouble that shot the 2012 season in the butt was not staff generated, but tied to the perfomance of one man. The '09, '10, and '11 seasons weren't that bad, yielding 30 games won. And a lot of bucks in the bank account I might add.
