I tore the ACL in my left knee two separate times. I have had two successful surgery's. There is not a rush needed to see a doctor as long as the knee is not dislocated. Go to the Dr when convenient. Make sure she keeps the leg active. It is very important Atrophy does not set in. Best of luck.

I would do as those below suggested about the ice, elevation and pain meds. But I would definitely go to the ortho as soon as you can just to confirm what's wrong with her leg.
