wow that takes big man to posion a tree that should teach us al esson that uat is allowed to be good. lets see how the media treats this. what a sorry excuse for aman to do this. i hope they catch and bring him up on local, state and federal charges. if pf does not turn over his records on this the should charge him also.

I am absolutely heartbroken. I am angry. I want bad things to happen to whoever did this. I will never forget every celebration at Toomer's Corner I had, and getting my picture taken there for graduation.

I can only hope that there will be some sort of miracle, but I sincerely hope the Auburn Family keeps its reputation of class throughout all of this.

I know they want to distance themselves as much as possible but UA officials need to make a statement condemning the act. This thing needs to stay calm with all "anger" pointed solely at the individual or individuals involved. It would be in UA's best interest to not ignore this horrible act.

In a thread about this a couple weeks ago, I thought someone posted that we had already started growing new trees from the seeds of the current trees. There was already a plan in place to replace the current trees, this seems that it will speed that process up and that we'll likely have to replace them sooner than expected?

Don't we have cameras on this corner? Between the call to Finebaum and cameras on the corner, seems we could track this loser down. Some people just don't have a filter and can't see the line that isn't to be crossed. A real shame.

Sadly, very few, if any, online cams actually record what they are showing...

Unbelievable how vile some people can be.

Forget the happy talk, there is no way they can save these trees. And as someone above mentioned, this poison travels so far that it will likely impact the entire front lawn of Samford Hall. Our beloved Auburn will not look the same during our lifetimes.

Not only can no new trees be planted now -- and even if they could, they would take decades to reach anything close to maturity -- the entire area will likely need to be dug up and replaced with new soil. The entry way to our university is going to basically become a toxic waste cleanup site for the next couple of years.

This is truly disgusting.

I think a nice reward could bring this person out in the open. Something has to be done to find this person no mater how long it takes. This is bad.
