What was originally going to be several days of road-destroying work will now just take a few hours and few barricades. Auburn University has decided to wait to remove the Toomers Oaks’ roots until construction begins on the new Toomer’s Corner design after the 2013 football season. The work now officially scheduled for April 23 only involve cutting the trees into sections and removing them to a storage facility before the wood is turned into commemorative souvenirs.
