What I choose to believe is that this committee was built to represent both (a) a variety of interests that capture Auburn as a whole, all factions, and (b) that each individual on it is capable of considering each candidate with a disinterested, detached, independent, non-biased, objective view with Auburn's best interest in mind.

In light of that, rather than everyone bickering about why anyone mentioned is not their guy, I think we all need to stop all the negative criticism and solely focus on putting out positive, rational views about why this candidate or that candidate is a good candidate. Preferably, new ones that haven't been voiced 15,000 times.

We all know the good and bad about Petrino, Fisher, Malzahn, Smart, and Patterson at this point. No need to rehash it. If anyone has new information, fine. But let's not tear down everyone who's not our guy and put a little faith and trust in Auburn to get it right. This pool of candidates is the best we've ever had.

Downvote and go about your way of tearing down everything that doesn't support your guy if you want, but unity and unqualified support of Auburn is what is best for Auburn at this point, not just on message boards but on facebook, twitter, and discussions amongst the fan base and with the media.

Believing in Auburn and loving it means having faith in our leadership that they'll get it right if we stay out of it. If Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson, and Mac Crawford can't get it right, I'm not sure who can. If the results play out to show Jay Jacobs screwed it up again, then we'll fire his ass when the time comes. But for right now, those guys are the one who will make a decision that the President and Board are almost certain to make the official decision of Auburn University, and whomever gets that nod will be Auburn's head football coach in 2013 whether fans whine and moan or not. So let's stand behind them and support whomever they decide to hire.

At this point I'd hope everyone on here and every fan in our fan base will make a pledge that whoever gets the job, we're going to stand by him. That's our only hope of success. Bob Stoops, Bobby Petrino, Jimbo Fisher, Kirby Smart, Gus Malzahn, Charlie Strong, Gary Patterson, or anyone else are going to be counting on that support if they're going to have any chance of taking on the adversaries we have to face.

We have good enough rivals as it is. We don't need to be our own.

Believe in Auburn and Love it, and never forget it's Great to Be an Auburn Tiger.
