I'm so glad to see that Auburn finally got off to a good start. I have had confidence in Coach Barbee ever since he was hired. As for the student ticket deal, it's just another example of how inept JJ and TJ are. Auburn will be MUCH better off when these two are gone. When I was a student, I had no problem attending games and that was when we had Chris Porter and went to back to back NCAA tournaments. Of course, David Housel was the AD back in those days.

Sorry to hear that from some of you students. Really sad to hear from several of you posters. Here's an opportunity for you to step up your leadership and make some phone calls and/or poke/prod in the athletic dept to help get things corrected! =) I say that encouragingly! Get as many of your student body friends to call and complain and join in with you.
One of my greatest memories of my student time in AU in mid 90's was being apart of Cliff Dwellers section among other memories. We could always get in to watch games even if we were too late to be apart of the special section or not. And it was always amazingly cheap for students to get in as well (as it should be!). Heck I may call and complain from afar to join in on ya'll's fight to get something accomplished!
Anyone have suggestions of who should be called and spoken with in the athletic dept???

Great win AU! Looked good on tv (dish espn full court package). Shaq did look really good (in agreement to an earlier post) heck Rob Chubb hustled and fought for some boards. Free throws are sad to say the least.... even Wallace missed some (which does not seem normal).
Also agree with an earlier post that Barbee MUST help clean up the last minute of the game! Should not have been made that close at the end as we had dominated the 2nd half.

I'm a student and I'm extremely disappointed in the policy to make students pay. I had ti watch from my apartment and was pissed at how many seats i saw open. Hopefully Barbee can take the bull by the horns and change that.

I don't understand the decision to turn students away????? Don't you think there would be a well communicated plan well in advance to handle situations like this? Good job Jay Jacobs!

Folks this stupid decision to turn students away is all on Jay Jacobs! He is the Athletic Director. I agree with other posters.....they should let students in the game free by showing an ID.

I've had season tickets and been going to games at the arena since it first opened, usually park in the same lot by new dorms near credit union.....came out from a great game to see a $50 parking ticket....no signs of any kind saying I couldn't park there, no attendant or anything The AD will get a piece of my mind on the parking ticket and the students being turned away in a phone call and email today. Ridiculous...

Especially to see all of the empty seats available in the non student section. Hope that problem gets straightened out. No one should ever be turned away from attending an Auburn basketball game unless it's a true sell out of all seats. Hope Barbee gets that fixed ASAP. Auburn spent a lot of money to build an arena that would give them a chance of filling it up. It's a darn shame students are being turned away.

I sent an e-mail to the athletic dept and to Jay Jacobs personally. I encourage you all to do the same. It is mind boggling to me how stupid someone can be. We are trying to change the Auburn basketball culture. Support at games, whether they paid or not is a major step.
