When looking at SEC games only, We are among the league leaders in almost every offensive category or middle of pack in the worst categories. There are even stats that look at every situational hitting scenario you can dream up and we rank middle of pack or better in all of them except 1 glaring stat - we are LAST in the league at advancing the runner home from third with less than 2 outs and we are way away from the rest of the league except Carolina. The root cause of that IMO is because we have worked so hard to cut down on fly outs that we can't get them when we need them.

We are tops in ERA in SEC games which is very encouraging to see. The other glaring problem we have is defense as we are dead last and nobody else is close. That is a function of recruiting IMO. We don't have a single legit middle infielder on the roster and our only legit 3rd baseman defensively has an arm we are trying to baby.

The other problem is game decisions. Lowski evidently doesn't prescribe to the strategy that you don't let the hot bat beat you. He let Dugas from uat single handedly beat us last weekend and then proceeds to let Vandys catcher do the same thing last night. Nuts.
