With Demetruce McNeal our for personal reasons and Trent Fisher hobbled with an ankle injury, Ellis Johnson said Auburn is extremely thin at the safety position heading into the A-Day game. Johnson also said they only had one natural pass rushers at defensive end (Dee Ford).
Johnson said he feels better about the talent and depth at defensive tackle, linebacker and cornerback.
Johnson said star Justin Garrett and linebacker JaViere Mitchell have been standouts this spring and two position moves that worked out very well. He said Mitchell would probably be one of his two starters at linebacker had he not missed time with a concussion. He's back to full speed now.
interesting. i wonder who the other LB is in his thoughts?
Also seems like a golden opportunity for Lawson at the other end spot.
