We all know you can't win 'em all in baseball but that loss to Mid Tenn St was frustrating to say the least. The error, earlier in the inning on the leadoff batter, meant that "one wayward pitch" gave them a 2-1 lead when, if I am not mistaken, sans the error, we would have retained a 1-0 lead heading to the bottom of the inning because that pitch would never have had to be thrown (believe this occurred with two outs). Then in the bottom of the 9th, thanks to a catcher's interference call, we had the bases loaded with only one out and failed to get at least a run across to tie the game. On the plus side, the game was well pitched by both teams and we did come back in the 2nd game and get a win against a scrappy C of C team.
Mid Tenn St has, effectively, taken the tourney title because the best we, or Ind St, can do is win today and tie them at 2-1 (assuming C of C beats them) only to lose on the tie breaker. Still a win today would give us a "series" win (2-1) and that is what we need each week. So, today is "championship Sunday."
