I cannot speak for the others but even if AU basketball was winning NC's every year I still probably wouldn't be watching, although I would be proud of them. I don't watch basketball for the same reason I don't watch badmitton. It simply bores me to tears. Always has.

The excuses discussed here are the reason AU BB is such a challenge. Waiting for Barbee to do it? Can he do it by himself? When the arena has only a few, that tells recruits there are better places go play. Lack of interest by AU people breeds lack of interest. If AU wants high level basketball they need to show it by turning out for games, shouting out wins and complaining about losses to the point that the administration has to act to secure the best coaches & players. Maybe if we all wait around Barbee will make it happen -- if he does, he will likely move on to a place that appreciates high leve BB, where people don't have to be begged to support the program.
