What a great sign for the program! These redshirts almost add the impact of another recruiting class. I have always thought redshirts tell a great deal about a program. If there are just a few, there is so much pressure to add true freshmen ready or not. When you have 10 or 12 redshirt players, you can wait on freshman who may not be ready. Another thought 85 scholarships ideally would be balanced with 12 seniors, 16 juniors, 20 sophomores, 12 redshirt freshmen, and 25 freshmen. This way the roster is developing players and adding depth compensating for players who leave for whatever reason and the NFL draft.
