I understand that our coaches recruit these kids because of their athletic abilities, but is that it? Don't think so. I believe I'm seeing character in almost all, and those that don't show it are those that don't have the interview possibilities. These young men are the type we would like our kids to know and with whom they would hang out. Men we would invite to our homes. Am I proud of the job our coaches are doing? Why yes, I am and not just for their team alone, but for Auburn. On the subject of the meaning of commitment, it's not a two way street. I f we wish a commitment to be solid, we have to respect a commitment to others to be as solid. Hard to treat it both ways, one when it's to our convenience and an other way when it's not. How can you have it both ways with a straight face. Why not respect a young man's action to mean it's how he feels at that moment. But for some, a real commitment is made with the LOI. Don't you make a mistake if you believe every word in your vocabulary means just one thing. A word means how society practices the meaning, not how a dictionary explains the meaning. I believe our coaches practice the word mainly the way the recruit looks at it. And recruits look at the word different ways.
