This coach seems to hold a mix of smarts all of which make lot of sense. I love the idea that schemes don't win games. Players do. I believe Auburn turned that around in 2012, and lost games. I can't say which games, there were so many. Coach Johnson is not likely to let deep thinking screw up; good recruiting and good coaching.

"But at some point in time, if there are two good coaches, the one with the best players is going to win."

Very simple statement, but full of un-said truth!

That is what happened in the BCS title game. It wasn't about schemes, but players. Saban had better players across the board.

If he stresses fundamentals - good technique, being in position,being aware, and most of all, sound, proper, wrap up tackling - we'll be fine, no matter the scheme. Way too many coaches just don't teach those things anymore.

No matter what scheme our defense run lets make sure every player get a dose of TACKLING 101 1st!
