I talked with Mike again today. I know how there are a lot of people on message boards that like to believe that he his having difficulties being happy at Auburn and want to twist/spin every tweet or facebook status into something negative in regards to his mentality, comfort level at Auburn, and his maturity in general. None of this dictated my conversation with him, but I did feel that this would clear up a lot of concerns and misconceptions.
Mike told me (again) that he was excited to learn that CSL was the new OC. CSL had recruited Mike to UF and they developed a great relationship but CSL took the Temple job before Mike got on campus. He did say that the first day CSL was on campus at AU, he sought out Mike specifically just to say hello and to catch up with him, even though he was crazy busy with the transition and recruiting for AU. That was HUGE for Mike.
Mike also told me that he is really excited to go back home to Bradenton for Spring Break so that he could see all of his family and friends. However, he is also just as excited to get back to Auburn and start spring practice. He believes that AU has a strong chance to be really good this year, despite the youth on the OL. He said that the offense (as of right now and to his understanding) is going to be essentially the same as what we had under Malzahn but without all of the smoke and mirrors. He said that CSL isn't going to decide to go run heavy or pass heavy but will let our personnel dictate what we do based on our strengths and weaknesses in regards to our opponents style of play. I found this to be truly encouraging.
Anyway, Mike is doing great and is extremely happy at Auburn and based on my conversations with him, I don't see that changing, at all. For most, this is nothing earth shattering but felt I would share anyway. TIFWIW and War Eagle!

No war is over until the enemy says it's over. We may think it's over, we may say it's over, but the enemy gets a vote. - Gen. James Mattis
Thanks BigTime/ Some folks just like to start rumors about these young men.
