We will be fine. Everything happens for a reason. Recently, our highly recruited guys have turned out to be thugs and divas for the most part. I trust our new direction. Malzahn will put points on the board being able to run his sytem with no restirctions like Chizik put on him, especially in our 2011 season. Our defense will take a year, maybe two to get back into dominate shape/contintion plus he got the best in the business running our defense now minus maybe Saban...

If he plans to wait until Signing Day then we'll just have to "re-recruit" him. I don't believe that just because we're not in his current top 5 that we will stop recruiting him - plus, the young man is probably very POd that we canned someone who he was very close to - considering BF plays with TTs son and they are very close. Troop and BF's relationship is a unique one in that they have a lot of contact with each outside of "Auburn recruiting".

At that age, they don't realize that coaches at the college level the assistant coaches continued employment is usually dependent on the success of HC and coordinators. In his eyes, he probably sees "Auburn" as firing someone whom he is very very close to so he takes it personally. He'll learn soon enough that coaching changes are just part of the business. I give our coaches as good a chance as any to recruit him back to AU once he's gotten over his anger.

FWIW, when the sports talk radio stations here in ATL were talking about an interview that BF did and how he discussed that if TT left, then he probably would to, he also said that TT told him that it didn't matter if he (TT) were at AU or not, that he should still go there - or words to that affect. In other words, don't commit to me - commit to AU. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if TT doesn't quit recruiting him to go to AU - unless TT finds another position immediately - he could find himself back up in TN - who knows.

It's too early to get upset about his status, yet - and even if he does sign somewhere else, I refuse to get upset. I have had enough of players that sign with us but aren't really committed to us. I want players like Kyle Frazier - who said when Gus left, that he committed to AU, not a coach.
