In 6 years as a head coach, Chizik is 36-33 and may very well be 38-38 by the end of this season. He will likely average between 4 and 5 wins per season in the other 5 years as a head coach without Cam Newton. It could even be far worse. Until this year, Chizik has been very good at winning close games. Just imagine what this record would look like if we hadn't had a fluke come from behind against Utah State last year that probably prevented a 7 or 8 loss season/meltdown last year. Now, I do give Chizik a lot of credit for a very good turnaround in year 1 and for helping us get the NC. He should get a lot of credit, but he now gets the blame too. Also, no matter how much credit I give Chizik for the NC, I also know that we would have lost 4 plus games without Cam. I think dozens of head coaches could have won that title with the best QB ever. Saban could have won the NC in 2009 without Ingram and in 2011 without Richardson. Chizik would never have sniffed the Capitol One Bowl let alone a BCS Bowl without Cam. So, maybe the truth is that I'm thankful that Chizik didn't screw up 2010 more than I really give him much credit for it.

and what's even crazier, CGM had to beg him to recruit Cam.
