Bryan, there was an article in the newspaper and on another site about Alabama's recruiting scheme with the recent hiring of a new coach. Both articles seemed to either infer or state that the mechanisms in place there were way in front of what Auburn has in place. One article said that Coach Malzhan was aware and developing a similar system. Are these articles true? What can you tell us about this situation. The newspaper article said Alabama had 29 people who could recruit under the new NCAA guidelines, but Auburn had only 18. Thanks for your help on this issue.

Says a lot about the respect for and expectations/beliefs in Coach Malzahn and the entire Auburn football program, players and staff.

The sun certainly seems to be shining on The Plains and our New Day with the program. More impressed by Gus Malzahn by the week.

AND...I wish Lutz had four more years, too!

What thing? He hired an "extra coach" without much of a resume'. By the way, how much experience does it take to make people offers? I think Gus is doing his best to get into gear and make some "progress". It may be a more telling indication of the potential for success, the way he handles the much harder chore of giving out the pink slips, when things get rough down the road. I'm not saying that we will fail next year, but a lot of money and talent at the other SEC schools are working day and night to make that so.
