***New tight end coach Tim Horton is known a a good recruiter. He focused mainly in Arkansas, southern Missouri and the Memphis area in recruiting for Arkansas.

"Very personable. Parents love him, and so do Arkansas high school coaches," Hawgs247 recruiting analyst Robert Turbeville said.

***He was the lead recruiter for Arkansas 4-star TE commitment Hunter Henry and Alabama 4-star RB commit Altee Tenpenny. Auburn is not recruiting Henry, or any TE's, at the moment and I don't expect that to change or for Henry to waver on his commitment. He did visit an Auburn game in 2011.

Auburn has continued to recruit Tenpenny but I think he's a definite longshot at this time and pretty firm with his Bama commit. There's a chance he will officially visit Auburn. He does have an official visit set up to Arkansas.

***Some of Horton's prospects include Arkansas 3-star DE commit Tevin Beanum, Arkansas 3-star LB commit Marcus Robinson, Arkansas 2-star WR commit Drew Morgan and UCLA 3-star OL commit Christian Morris. I don't anticipate Auburn being involved with any of those prospects. He was also recruiting 4-star junior Arkansas QB commit Rafe Peavey, who the Tigers may pursue in the 2014 class. He's from Bolivar (Mo.) High.

***With the connections that Gus Mazahn and Horton have in Arkansas, I expect Auburn to go after the Natural State's top prospects every year. Malzahn had a lot of success as OC at Auburn landing guys like Mike Dyer and Kiehl Frazier. One prospect to keep a close eye on is 4-star junior DT Josh Frazier from Har-Ber in Springdale, Ark. Auburn has already offered Frazier and he's the state's top prospect for the 2014 class.

Auburn hasn't offered the state's No. 2 2014 prospect yet, 4-star DE Jarvis Cooper, but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes. Horton was recruiting Cooper for Arkansas.
