  • Love the sound of this. Corners with size and length and that have that "playmaker" trait to them... like a Banks or even a Patrick Peterson. Really helps me not to miss a guy like Irvin-Sills anymore. It sounds like he might have his eyes on Nick Marshall and Jason Smith...

  • While I agree we need physical corners, a DB with 6'2 or more at height and great agility, hips and speed are rare species. He found Johnathan Banks, yes, but still. LSU always seems to find smaller corners and have them become NFL draft picks. I believe they started a freshman this year who was on the short side, but he did really good. Mo Claiborne was a short one too.

  • I think there was time when everyone was caught up in "closing speed". Well a 6' plus guy isn't going to always be as quick as a guy shorter and lighter. Now though with bigger WRs that move around you better have a good mix. Someone who can cover Welker or Roddy White. I like that he is looking for guys who are versatile athlete's. The power spread and hurry up no huddle in vogue now require coverage and the ability to tackle in space. Also, you see it every Saturday now, a 5' 9" corner getting crushed by a pulling OL or pushed around by a strong TE. Our current corners our talented and need some work, but showed determination. Looking forward to see these secondary guys coach 'em up.
