Florida State defensive end commitment Davin Bellamy says he is "devastated" by the news that Florida State quarterback coach Dameyune Craig is leaving Florida State to become the wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator at Auburn University.
Craig played for Auburn, and was the primary recruiter for the star defensive end recruit from Atlanta.
I got in touch with Bellamy Thursday night.
Bellamy still considers himself a Florida State commitment and still plans to make the trip to Tallahassee on January 11 as part of a big planned recruiting weekend for the Seminoles.
But he said that he is now "open and it's fair game."
Other schools in contention include Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson, Pitt and Mississippi State. Visits to Tennessee and Georgia are still planned, both of which have been recruiting Bellamy from the outset.
Bellamy spoke with fellow Florida State commitments Marquez White and Levonte 'Kermit' Whitfield, both of whom encouraged him to stick with the Seminoles.

I took a look see at FSU site to get a feel for players he was recruiting and could only find 4. I'm fairly certain he was recruiting others but the one's listed as being directly recruited were as follows:
OT Austin Golson - FSU Commit Ath Marquez White - FSU Commit Juwaan Williams - shows FSU & 3 others as equal Standish Dobard - Miami Commit
Of the above listed recruits does his departure create an opportunity for us and who do we want?
Does anyone remember or know of other recruits he may have had a connection with that we may be able to go after. Do we want any of them?
For example: I know that Makensie Alexander camped at FSU back in July of last year. He is not listing FSU as a high interest but his brother Mackenro Alexander was warm on them.
Another example is Arshad Jackson. Has the ship sailed on him. I know that was discussed but can't remember the details. He lists FSU as his leader and was also being recruited by Dameyune Craig.
I know everyone is still dancing over the new coaches but I am always looking for the opportunity. FSU has to be in turmoil at the moment.
Never a better time to strike than right now! (it's one of the nWo rules)

Thanks Bryan for answering the question about the current FSU guys. That was my main question and to if anyone had a different point of view.
We all know what he can do for us in the future and I'm really excited about the hire as is everyone else.
I saw a post in the last couple of days about Kodi Burns. Do we know what he'll be doing with this staff? Is coming on as a GA?
