sorry, color me extremely underwhelmed! I have to see some actual results before I will give him a pass...

This is the Jay Jacobs I know and respect. He is honest and forthright, loves Auburn and is a fine man of integrity! He may make mistakes (we all do) but the faction within our fanbase who have jumped on the slimebomb, Collier, etc led character assasination of him has been way over the line. He did his job the way a professional AD and man of integrity should! He quietly and behind the scenes DID HIS JOB in evaluating the program and relaying his concerns to his employees (the coaching staff) during the season without publicly second guessing them or issuing statements which would have been mis-construed and over-analyzed. It would have been un-professional and of bad character to have done what many of you called for during the season. The attacks on him need to stop. Reasonable and respectful questioning of his job by us is ok, but the "over-the-top" attacks are not!

I don't care if he is a "fine man of integrity" if he cannot also do his job effectively. He is the architect of the disaster that is the Auburn athletic department right now. "Fine man" or not, he should be FIRED.

Your an idiot if you believe that. Jay Jacobs is a problem and needs to be removed just like Chizik.

I'm with you on the on-field results. I know that we are not performing where we should be. But, Chizik was a National Champ and Broyles award winner just 2 years ago. In baseball, Pawlowski won the western division in 2010 and finished 2nd in the division in 2011, Barbee is just in his 3rd year at Auburn. The mess you are referring to is really a bit overstated I think.

OK General. I hear you on that. I guess I've read a lot about that as well. My curiosity might be, where can we validate that there is a group of friends running things into the ground? I just don't see the results bearing it out. If Jacobs had given Chizik one more year, then I would be much more understanding and even in agreement with you. But he handled this very professionally. He made the correct decision given the results on the field this year.

Am I missing something? Believe it or not, I'm not a Jay Jacobs advocate. I'm just trying to understand the very bitter feelings against him on this board.
