Is there any truth about an offer from the Titans to Saban $9 million? If so, would this help Auburn in recruiting?
..........BEAT BAMA .........BEAT BAMA.......BEAT BAMA
Bud Adams is dumb....but he is not stupid.....I seriously doubt this will happen....especially at 9 mil per year.
It's a rumor until it's not a rumor anymore! As for the amount of money...Take your pick as the amount is changing each time I hear/read about the rumor. It may be fueled by some of the less desirable fans we have recently acquired...
As for helping in recruiting, well I think that depends on the individual kid and it could depend on where/who a kid hears it from. I personally would like to see our side stay away from such rumors. Don't repeat them and don't help spread them (I know, I know - I'm dreaming again). If he goes I think it will likely be after signing day and thus have no large impact on NSD.
I don't think Gene Chizik would tolerate his staff stooping to this level when it comes to discussions with recruits. I for one will take my que from that example and hopefully so will all others in the Family. If it happens then it happens.
Let's temper our speculation on this one until something is actually sealed!
We can all pray though...

Doesn't look to me like AU needs any help in recruiting.
A good way to gauge these kinds of things is to simply go to google and type in "Saban Titans".
Pretty much every result is some message board like cockytalk, sectalk.com, tidefans.com, etc.
When those are the places that we find "Saban" and "Titans" being put together, it's pretty safe to say it's a rumor at this time.
As soon as we see Mort or Ed Werder saying "I'm hearing that there may be interest in Nick Saban", then we can start to wonder. Until then, it's just rumors made up by fans at Auburn, Florida, LSU, etc.
PS. I also did another search and found articles listing 14 different names associated with the Titans position....Saban was not among them.

Amen to othe comment on the recent fans....I guess I am new to AUC but the trash talking that some of our new fans and cohorts are spouting or following....
makes me shake my head....
