SIAP Miss State Loses another Recruit today

  • Barron Dixon DE just decommitted from Miss St and get this committed to Vandy. Looks like things aren't going so well in Starkvegas. These recruits seem to know something that not out in the public yet, everyone is jumping ship. Hope we get Whitehead.

  • Whitehead will go to Ole Miss in my opinion. Yes he is a good talent, but he was brought in as a backup in case MR or RT went elsewhere.

  • They probably know that this situation with Cam is not over, but not from Auburn's standpoint. After all, Miss State was the one who failed to report the "pay for play" scheme until they were sure they had no chance to sign Cam. How do you explain that to the NCAA....can't. Guess now they are sorry they said anything at all and just kept their jealousy to themselves and went on about their business. I said all along that Miss State will be the school to be popped, even with all the whining by the Bammers that it should be Auburn.

  • I've always wondered too about the fact that a MSU booster was even having discussions with a recruits dad about money.

    It's one thing to be asked about money....you can't help it if someone calls you and asks. All you can do is hang up or tell them no and then report them.

    However, Bill Bell admitted to "three way phone calls". Rogers reportedly called Bell to ask "if the deal was going to go through".

    Neither of the above things are possible unless Bell was having actual conversations (multiple) with Rogers about the topic of payment. If you call someone and ask for money and they immediately and emphatically tell you "NO", then why would you need to call them later and ask "will the deal go through?"? If you have to ask if the deal is going through, then someone, somewhere must have been considering it.

    To me, everything Bill Bell said was an attempt by him to clear himself and MSU, but I think all he did was implicate himself by running his mouth. I could be wrong still, but I've said since this whole thing started that in the end the parties in trouble would be Kenny Rogers and Mississippi State.

  • That is embarrassing for Miss State tho, to lose a commit to Vandy. It's one thing to lose to an Auburn, or Ala or Fla, one of the bigger schools. You could always argue better facilities, stadium, location, etc, but to Vandy?!? I guess you could argue he wanted a better education...?

  • I have always wondered why anyone would pick MSU to begin with. At least Vandy is in Nashville. That is a cool town and the education will be first class. It is telling when the recruits start bailing out though, that something is about to go down.

  • Maybe Miss St should drop Megan Mullen as their recruiting coordinator. It was interesting that Kenny Rogers knew exactly who to go to for money...BILL BELL. I wonder if his cell phone has dried out yet.

    I believe you are right on the money jadennis. Keep watching that finger slowly turn in the direction of Starkville. There wasn't only a 3-way call, but 3 calls total. Kenny Rogers knew who to call. Like someone said months ago.....this wasn't his first rodeo.
