SEC refs covering for bama

thoughts? you can hear the announcers say that he was 1/2 yard short and then see the ref turn around to see where the first down is so he knows where to mark the football

it was Penn Waggers crew, one of the worst in the SEC. If you watch the clip you can see the ref. looks over his left shoulder and can see the spot is about a half a yard short of a first down, then as he is placing the ball down he looks over his right shoulder and sees the first down marker and moves the ball to make sure the spot gives uat the first down. There is no way Waggers or anyoneelse can deny that.. That is about as obvious as it gets.

Outlaw has it exactly right. We've seen this before. The refs are hired by the SEC and it means tens of millions of dollars to the SEC to have any SEC team win the national championship. They want to make sure no 'also ran' spoiles the party.
The money talks. But perhaps the NCAA should look into this. Emmett likely doesn't want to spoil the party for Nick, Slive, or himself. It would become an FBI level scandal very quickly.

It is very "odd" that in the SEC over the last several years all the close calls seem to go in favor of the higher ranked team. Florida, LSU. bama and, to be fair, Auburn in 2010, all got favorable calls on disputed plays.
I am starting to think the Slive may have studied at the "David Stern School of Sports Management".
