Vanderbilt is excellent in academics. Auburn is no slouch. If I was a recruit that wasn't going to play at the next level, It would be a tough decision.

Being a graduate of Auburns Building Science school...I took several engineering classes,,,,Auburns school of engineering is top notch and very challenging...A degree from Auburn in ANY phase of the construction industry is Highly respected in the South and Nationally...Auburn can hold its own against ANY School in the Nation in this category of academics....That being said...I think we would have a REAL shot at this young student athlete...Which could be a real sleeper as a recruit and obviously , he is very intelligent!!

Take him to Huntsville and introduce him around to all the Auburn engineers. Auburn is not MIT, but the engineering school has a great reputation. I can't help but think of Dr. John Cochran and Dr. Greg Carr who played football at AU and distinguished themselves with their engineering degrees later. Come to Auburn with your 3 stars and leave with your 5 star degree.

Bryan, Don't you think " Sec commit" is a bit misleading. Its Vandy and you can't sugar coat that. He may be a great recruit but dosen't sound like a bunch of schools are knocking on his door.

Good for you young man. It's nice to hear that a student has his priorities straight, academics first then football. Whether Mr Weatherly attends Auburn or Vanderbilt or any other school for that matter he will go far in life. My brother in law got his Masters in Aeronautical Engineering at Auburn and will recieve his PHD this spring. Yes, AU has very good Engineering classes.
