I'm worried he's going to have an uneven emphasis on speed over size. Size is something that has been extremely lacking as of late, especially on defense.

It's just hard for me to think our major problem last year had anything to do with size, strength, or conditioning. Lutz even tweeted as much recently.

I think the problem was in our heads, not in our body.

Mentally weak, not physically weak. Just my take.

I can't fathom a S&C program run by Yox that would be the problem. Now, it could very well be that it wasn't as intense as years past. Most on last years staff won a NC just 2 years ago. They know what it takes.

That's just my take. I could be off base.

The new guy will be fine.

I'm pretty sure he is not reading these post for advice though.

W.E.D. Its all about work ethic, dadgumit. I saw, strength, size, speed, and success on both sides of the ball; on the line, the receivers, the lbs, the dbs, the rbs, the wrs, the qb. That was what ASU was all about, and as the year progressed the got f&s (faster and stronger) and gained confidence in every game. And that was only 5 months of his conditioning. Imagine what he is going to do in 9 months. I just hope the kids are ready to be transformed in to lean, mean, fighting machines. WDE.

I like the fact that he can train players to match Gus high tempo style. the players at Ark St seemed to really respect this guy so i do have high hopes.

Phillip, will Russell also work with the other athletic programs? Correct me if I'm wrong, Yox directed the strength program for everyone, not just football, right?
